New amendments to the Aeronautical Code

On 4 October 2024, the National Government through Resolution 363/2024 (the “Resolution”), which amends Articles 106 and 107 of the Aeronautical Code, regulated the operations of foreign aircraft and crews in Argentina, delegating to the National Civil Aviation Administration (“ANAC”) the implementation of the necessary procedures for foreign aircraft and personnel to operate commercially in the country.

The regulation allows the use of foreign personnel in Argentine aviation under justification, training and licence validation plans, and the incorporation of foreign-registered aircraft for commercial and general operations, complying with international standards. The airline Jet Smart will be the first to bring in Chilean aircraft under this new regulation.

ANAC assures that this measure seeks to regulate the air market and encourage fair competition, promoting economic development, tourism and federal integration of the country.
