On April 25, 2025, through Decree 286/2025 (the “Decree”), the Executive Branch authorized the commencement of the full privatization of Energía Argentina Sociedad Anónima (ENARSA).
In order to ensure the continuous provision of services, the privatization will be carried out in stages through the separation of the activities and assets of each business unit of the company.
The Decree also authorized the sale of the shares held by ENARSA in COMPAÑÍA INVERSORA EN TRANSMISIÓN ELÉCTRICA (CITELEC S.A.), through a public tender open to both national and international bidders.
CITELEC S.A. is the controlling company of Transener S.A., which transports 86% of the electricity consumed in the country through 15,408 km of 500 kV transmission lines. It also includes 6,228 km in the province of Buenos Aires through its controlled entity, Empresa de Transporte de Energía Eléctrica por Distribución Troncal de la Provincia de Buenos Aires Sociedad Anónima (TRANSBA S.A.).
The Decree came into effect on April 17, 2025.
