Decree No. 2130 (the “Decree”) regulates the creation of the Mining Council of Mendoza, which will act as a superior instance of the local Mining Directorate to supervise and manage the mining activity in the province.
The regulation establishes that the members of the Council will be appointed by the Provincial Executive Power for a period of two years, with the possibility of reelection. Candidates are proposed through lists submitted by entities such as the Federation of Lawyers, the Council of Engineers and the Chambers of Commerce, and their selection is made by lottery.
