Why does this matter?
If you are a capital markets participant or involved in CNV proceedings, there are relevant changes: remote hearings, new deadlines to ratify complaints, and an updated schedule of infractions.
Key facts
– Regulation: CNV General Resolution 1131/2026
– Effective: April 30, 2026
What changed?
The CNV reorganized and simplified the rules governing its investigation and disciplinary areas. Key changes:
Remote hearings: Informational and testimonial hearings may now be held by videoconference when justified by distance or at the declarant’s request, subject to CNV approval.
Complaint ratification: Complaints filed with the CNV must now be ratified between 4 and 20 business days of submission, or they may be deemed not filed. In abbreviated disciplinary proceedings where a representative is present at the preliminary hearing, this requirement is waived.
Infraction schedule: The grid of conducts subject to abbreviated proceedings has been updated.
Transparency: Disciplinary resolutions will be published on the CNV website.
Definitions and language: New defined terms were added and obsolete technology references were removed.
