Reorganization of the natural gas transportation system to adapt to the growth of Vaca Muerta

On March 13, 2026, Resolution No. 66/2026 (the “Resolution”) issued by the Secretariat of Energy was published in the Official Gazette of the Argentine Republic. Through this Resolution, a comprehensive reorganization of the capacities of the natural gas transportation system was established.

The Resolution terminates the transportation agreement between Energía Argentina Sociedad Anónima1 (“ENARSA”) and Compañía Administradora del Mercado Mayorista Eléctrico S.A.2 (“CAMMESA”) regarding the Perito Moreno Gas Pipeline and repeals the “Transport.Ar Producción Nacional”3 program, with the aim of encouraging the expansion and financing of the gas pipeline system through private initiative. To this end, it establishes guidelines for the allocation of available transportation capacity along new routes through an open bidding process, ensuring the principles of open access and non-discrimination.

Additionally, it instructs the National Gas Regulatory Authority (Ente Nacional Regulador del Gas, “ENARGAS”) to exercise its powers with respect to the calculation and establishment of transitional tariff schedules for the new routes, subject to a prior public participation process.

The Resolution entered into force on the date of its publication.
